Research Notes Directions

1.      Go to http://www.meganhastings.weebly.com and click on SPEECH.  Download the research template onto your computer.

2.      Type or Copy/Paste your notes into the template, so the template becomes as long as you need it to be.

3.      Use a new template document for each new source.

4.      Complete all parts of the template thoroughly

5.      If you don’t know how to document a source, ASK!  We are using MLA format.

6.      Notes may be in the form of summary, fragments, or single words, or facts.

7.      Include a copy of the source with your notes.

8.      Notes will be graded for the quality and thorough use of the source.

9.      Use only quality sources. Poor source choices will result in re-written notes for a penalized grade.  Avoid  Wikipedia entries, avoid encyclopedias, avoid SparkNotes, and avoid all  summaries of literary works. Avoid general Internet summaries, student papers, and sources with no author or publisher.  To be safe, use AVL, .gov, .edu, or .org sites.
